Level 2 Award in Understanding Health Improvement, accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH).

There are no minimum qualification requirements to undertake this training course, but trainees will need the support and supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician.

Most people complete this training course in 4 to 8 weeks so we can flex the timescales to suit your trainee’s pace of learning.

TRAINEE WORKBOOK

There are 4 individual workbooks covering all of the key areas, an activity book with activities and multiple choice questions, a mock test and a final test. There is also a Tutor guide to support the tutor.

SUPPORT

Once we’ve set your trainee up on their new course, our friendly team will be in touch regularly to help them complete their training course and gain their qualification. We track progress and are always happy to help and support trainee and tutor in any way we can.

DELIVERY METHOD

Trainees receive 4 workbooks, a Tutor guide for their tutor and an activity book. These are emailed to Trainees and tutors.

ASSESSMENT

This training is assessed through the final test. So, the mock is an important part of preparing for this.

What qualifications do I need to be accepted on this training course?
There are no minimum requirements or training requirements to be enrolled onto this course. You just need to be working in a community pharmacy under the supervision of a pharmacy technician or pharmacist.
In what format do you provide the training course content?
The training is delivered via distance learning. We will email the workbooks and Tutor guide, and when the time comes the mock exam. This is then sent to us for marking and we will provide feedback and order the official RSPH test to send out to you for completion.
Can I complete this training course from home?
You can complete the workbooks and activities at home if you wish, but the tests need to sat under the supervision of your tutor.
Can I start this training programme at any time?
Yes, you can start this training programme at any time of the year.
How long does this training course last?
The Understanding Health Improvement training course takes most trainees between 4 to 8 weeks to complete. You are however allowed up to 52 weeks to complete the training course.
Do you provide all training content for this course?

Yes, all the content you need is included within the workbooks. They have all the information you will need to understand how to support your customers with their health concerns or signpost them to a suitable service. The information will also set you up to pass the test.

Do you provide support during my training?
Yes, we are here to help with any queries you may have when completing your workbooks.
Will my pharmacy pay for this training course?
In the majority of cases, the pharmacy will pay for your training as they will benefit from the skills you obtain on your Understanding Health Improvement training course.
Do I get a certificate when I complete this training programme?
Yes you do. Once you have completed your Understanding Health Improvement training course, we will send you a certificate.
Do I need to re-accredit this training course?
No, once you have completed the training course, you will be a Health Champion.
